Eligibility requirements
To access postsecondary FSL bursaries, students must meet specific eligibility criteria:
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada,
- Be at least 17 years old on the first day of class
- Have English as their first official language
- Have completed their secondary school studies in an English-language institution and graduated from this institution
- Have reached the postsecondary level of education
- Demonstrate that they have sufficient knowledge of French to be able to study in that language: provide a transcript certifying that they have taken French-language courses at high-school, college or university levels in Canada, for a minimum of two years *
- Be enrolled in a first year undergraduate program at UBC
- Study full time at UBC during the current year
- Participate in at least 50% of their courses and related activities in French (placements and training activities in the community) each semester or on average over the school year
